Animals truly are amazing, and so cooperative.
For the last several nights, Narima, one of my amazing cat companions, has been pretty busy. He has been running around, jumping and climbing on things and meowing quite loudly for several hours each night.
Usually, I don’t say anything to my animal companions about things like this. My home is their home, too. They have to feel happy, and be able to have a good time as well.
My cat companions are indoor cats, and therefore it is very important for them to exercise. They also need to be able to practice their skills, and enjoy themselves to stay happy and healthy.
When we share our lives with animals, we are in a partnership where everyone’s needs, feelings and emotions have to be met; not just human ones.
However, yesterday evening I was very tired, and had a big day ahead of me. I sat down and asked Narima if he would mind having a quiet night since I was really tired and needed some sleep. I explained that I had a very busy day ahead of me, and that it was important for me to be refreshed in the morning since I had a lot of driving to do. I also told him that it was only for one night, and then he could run around again. I told him how happy I was that he was getting all this exercise, and was really enjoying himself. I also let him know that I was very proud of him for being so active, and finding all of these interesting things to do in our small apartment. I made sure to tell him that when he is happy, it makes me happy as well.
What is important to know is that when I spoke to Narima, it was not just empty words. I really meant what I said, and felt the joy of sharing his happiness.
Narima did not say anything in reply to my request, but we both looked into each other’s eyes, and let each other feel how much we love each other.
Last night, Narima did not utter one pip. He just quietly walked through our home.
As you can imagine, we spent some special time together this morning, and I told him how thankful I was for his cooperation.
What an amazing soul.
